Les Américains

Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot / Syrah

Baked plum aromas. Big chunky tannins but sonorous fruit. Beautifully knit with lift and length. Very dense, with some smudgy chocolate and smoky minerality. Very good.

When we came to the Languedoc region, everybody talked about “Les Américains”.  It didn’t matter that mom is French-Vietnamese or that I am Franco-American.  We will always be Les Américains.  So why fight it?

We knew this would be the cuvée that most people saw.  It’s not as extreme as our flagship reserve, instead designed to be an ambassador to O’Vineyards.  The wine that introduces people to our rigorous work ethic, our delicious wines, and (perhaps ironically) our love of France.

Les Américains is a Cabardès blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.  Our unique position so far inland in the Languedoc allows us to balance Mediterranean richness and spice with Atlantic-influenced structure and boldness.  Les Amèricains has just enough richness and just enough austerity so that it is approachable to virtually all wine lovers.

Follow the signs to Mazamet/ Villemoustaussou using the D118. At the end of the last straight part of D118, you will come to a roundabout with the Dyneff gas station.
  2. Take the exit towards Pennautier. Continue 500m to a small roundabout and go straight over.
  3. Look out for the second road on your right, Avenue des Cévennes which curves up hill (about 1km) to Avenue de la Montagne Noire on the left.
  4. At the last juction, bear left. the road sign “Ave de la Montagne Noire” (confusing as it seems to show a right turn)
  5. After another 500m you will see our red brick color building in the middle of the vines.
