We enjoyed a fun weekend with Helen & Aaron, our Web designers.
To thank Helen & Aaron for such a great job on O’Vineyards website, Joe opened two of his unique bottles !
Only 12 bottles left of each of these two rare and yummy wines:
Joe’s private O’ CAB 2008 …. and Liz’s 2005…LV… any guess what “LV” stands for ? “Liz’s Vintage”… but Joe calls it “Liquid Viagra” !

“My boyfriend and I visited O’Vineyards on a recent trip to Carcassonne. It was about 20 euros and 15 minutes from the Cite in a taxi. I’d booked months in advance mainly for the wine tasting, but the food soon became a huge part of our day. The vineyard is owned by a lovely husband and wife couple. Joe does the wine and Liz does the food.
We completed our wine tour around the vineyard and distillery with Joe. We tasted about 6 wines. Joe pitched it just right. It was informative, educational and fun!
We then went inside and were all seated together for lunch around their big dining table. It was a very different experience to sitting as a couple in a restaurant, but the informal and friendly nature made it truly unique. Joe and Liz ate with us, telling funny stories and providing great entertainment. There was plenty of wine flowing.
Liz served us with what was one of the most fantastic dinners I’ve had in someone’s home. It was plentiful, tasty, fresh and creative. We had aperitifs, salad, soup, two choices of Asian inspired main courses, cheese, dessert, followed by coffee and more wine.
I can’t highly recommend this experience enough if you love great wine, fabulous food and nice hosts!”

“It was lovely to be able to meet up with Ryan last week whilst in California and meet the lovely Olga. He was the consummate host, showing us the winery and the tasting rooms and running us around, even wining and dining us!! Then again he learned from a master (or two!)
Olga is delightful and they are obviously very happy together.
We even managed to smuggle a bottle of Ryans wine back in our luggage. It is waiting for a rainy day so we can try it. (Won’t have to wait long in the UK!)”

“Wonderful afternoon”

We visited Joe and Liz at the end of January and selected the “Wine & Dine” experience after reading the great reviews on here. A 15 minute taxi ride from Carcassonne (about €20) gets you to the vineyard. We were a bit worried that we might be the only visitors eating with the hosts at this quiet time of year, but these feelings were soon discarded as although we were the only visitors, Joe and Liz are wonderful hosts. We were made to feel at home in their beautiful dining room overlooking the vineyards with a glass of wine and a warm fire before setting outside to view the vineyard and the wine-making facilities. After a really interesting tour where we learnt all about the vineyard and the wine-making process from Joe as well as tasting his excellent wines in various states of readiness, we went back inside. Liz’s food was exceptional. We are both vegetarians and Liz rustled us up 4 courses of amazing home-cooked veggie food while Joe kept our glasses full allowing us to try many of his renowned wines. Joe and Liz are so enthusiastic about their respective roles at the vineyard it is hard not to be engrossed listening and talking to them. We are certainly looking forward to visiting again at a warmer time of year when we will be able to see the vineyard in it’s full glory; and to enjoy the wines we have since sent for. This was the highlight of our weekend in Carcassonne.

Thank You Jeff & Alex Robinson for the great pictures! Sweet Memories of your visit!
Alberto visited us with his parents Gina & Manuel Hernandez.
Unique and memorable experience near the city of Carcassonne, specially if you are a wine lover. Joe and Liz open up the doors of their home and you instantly find yourself in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

A wonderful day to celebrate the Patron Saint of the Winemakers!
After the traditional Prosper Montagné parade through the streets of Carcassonne, we enjoyed a truffle themed lunch catered by the young chef Gauthier Hille.
Carol & Lawrence flew in from Scotland to share the fun at the O’ table with other friends, Jean Heritier & his wife Annie, Alain Machion & his wife Yannick, and Thierry Pujol.
Good Wine, Good Food, Good Friends! What a day!
